My Story
Shawn Dwayne Davis Jr. was born as the first of his parents, who had a total of (8-15) children . Growing up in the streets Baltimore City, Maryland, he was raised by parents who were drug kingpins. However, he soon realized that his situation was not normal and decided to seek help and a way out. One day, he called his great grandmother, who came to his side along with the police, and he was removed from that environment and placed in a loving home. There, he was raised in the church and became an ordained minister, directing the choir and serving as the president of the youth department. He was also a founding member of the Gay Straight Alliance at his school. However, his coming out as a bisexual teen in the Baltimore paper caused an end to his love of the church. This was when he began establishing work habits.
Shawn's love of money grew into an addiction, which led him to work at over 40 jobs within the first 30 years of his life. However, his addiction to money slowly came to an end with his 14-year tenure at Wells Fargo holding various levels of senior management positions. It was during this time that he discovered that the latter for him would only go so high because of what he looked like. This realization gave him the push he needed to start his own business.
The re-birth of Placid Lifestyle and Yolo Ent took place. These two businesses were created in his early years, but he had to hide them because his corporate America life would not accept nor at the time the world him doing both. Through Yolo Ent, he met some incredible people and built upon the strengths that corporate America taught him to launch his own successful condom distribution business. This allows him to do what he enjoys. In his down time, he enjoys traveling around the world and experiencing different food cultures. The remaining of his time goes to several organizations that he belongs to, such as The Black Naturist Association, Chi Sigma Delta Fraternity Inc, and Habit for Humanity.
